Cohoes man accused of having illegal gun
Troy Police arrested a Cohoes man on Wednesday for allegedly having an illegal loaded handgun.
Officers were interviewing Ehab M. Abdalla, 21, around 9:15 p.m. in the area of 2nd Avenue and 116th Street. Abdalla took off on his bicycle and eventually get off and ran away on foot, police said. He allegedly shed layers of clothing and a cross-body bag.
Police caught him a short distance away. Officers found a loaded handgun.
Abdalla was charged with criminal possession of a weapon, obstructing governmental administration and violations of the bicycle code. He was sent to Rensselaer County Jail.
