A Cohoes man was sentenced on Friday to 10 to 14 years in prison for two Albany burglaries, including stealing more than $50,000 worth of items from a home.

Devaughn Hall was convicted in February in Albany County Court of two burglary counts. Hall stole jewelry, handbags and purses from a residence on Dana Avenue on Dec. 19, 2023, according to the Albany County District Attorney’s Office.

A few days later, he stole more than 20 packages from an apartment complex on South Lake Avenue. Police obtained video surveillance from the apartment complex, which showed Hall with his distinctive facial tattoos, neon-red dreadlocks and face piercing.

A search of his home found the missing items and his wife was even wearing some of the jewelry.

Hall shaved his dreadlocks and covered his tattoos with makeup to change his appearance for the trial, but he was found guilty anyway.
