Cohoes releases details of new $26 million budget

Cohoes’ new $26 million budget goes into effect on January 1.

The nearly $26 million proposal includes a 1% reduction in the property tax rate.

There also won’t be an increase in sewer or water rates.

The budget also allows for full staffing of all city departments, and a decrease in spending from the general fund in the 2022 city budget.

The common council passed the budget at Tuesday night’s meeting.
