Colonie man admits to sexually abusing girl, recording crime

A Colonie man has pleaded guilty to sexually abusing an 8-year-old girl.

Thomas Barrington, 33, admitted in U.S. District Court on Wednesday that between June 2023 and January of this year he photographed and recorded the abuse, the U.S. District Attorney’s office said.

Barrington is scheduled to be sentenced on Jan. 30. He faces 15 years to 60 years in prison and a fine of $250,000. He also must register as a sex offender, pay restitution to the victim and forfeit the device used in the crime.
