A community march to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. took place in the Office of General Services plaza concourse on Monday.
Marchers walked inside the concourse to remember Dr. King.
There were also speeches from local leaders including Albany Mayor Kathy Sheehan.
“We must continue Dr. King’s march forward by choosing democracy over autocracy and a beloved community over chaos. We must be believers, doers, and most of all dreamers,” said Mayor Sheehan.
The celebration included a wreath-laying ceremony at the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. plaque inside the concourse, and the playing of “Taps.”
The ceremony was moved inside because of the cold temperatures.
Many people at the event have it marked as an annual tradition on their calendar.
