Saratoga County to buy land for homeless shelter at 96 Ballston Ave.
A new Code Blue shelter for the city of Saratoga Springs got a step closer.
The Saratoga County Board of Supervisors has approved the purchase of land at 96 Ballston Ave. The board has given the green light for Shelters of Saratoga to build and operate a permanent shelter on the a 1.4-acre site.
The cost is around $3 million.
The fight for a permanent shelter has been going on for a decade.
In the past, the county has contracted with area motels.
