Schenectady fire chases families from home
A fire displaced close to a dozen people from a home in Schenectady.
The fire broke out just before 1 p.m. at 1094 Parkwood Boulevard. Everyone got out safely.
The building next door is used as a day care and had some damage. The fire chief said 10 people were living in the building.
The Red Cross said it is helping three households. They provided financial assistance for shelter, food and clothing to three adults and nine children ranging in age from age 2 to 15.
