Crime survivors and families of victims rallied in Albany on Tuesday.
They partnered with a New York nonprofit in the hopes to pass legislation that aims to better support survivors after a crime.
The legislation would expand eligibility requirements for victim compensation by allowing crime documentation alternatives to law enforcement and extending the application deadline.
