Work will continue Tuesday to repair a dam that broke in Stephentown near the Massachusetts border. The road was still closed to most traffic on Monday evening.
It happened on Garfield Road, near the East Nassau Rural Cemetery.
The beaver dam broke just before 6 a.m. Monday morning at a 44 acre pond, sending hundreds of thousands of gallons of water rushing down a hill and into the Kinderhook Creek.
Luckily, no injuries are reported.
