The State Department of Environmental Conservation says- it’s officially mud season.

What does that mean?
The department says as the spring progresses and the snowpack in the high peaks melts, everyone should expect higher than average water levels until we’re well into spring.
When you add April showers, water levels in even small streams and creeks can rise to unmanageable levels.
The DEC says that this is especially important advice for anyone planning to go for a spring weekend hike.
