Great Barrington fire not growing in size
Great Barrington wildfire has not grown since Thursday but they are investigating report of flames on the northeast side.
The Butternut Fire in Great Barrington has not grown in size, the fire department on Friday reported.
Fire officials were able to confirm that the fire has consumed nearly 1,400 acres. There is no immediate threat to homes or properties. Crews are monitoring the perimeters.
A total of 15 firefighters are working the incident. There is a report of active flames on the northeast side of the fire. Crews are monitoring the situation.
Fire officials are urging people not to go into the woods looking for the fire. If they see flames, call 413-528-0788 – Extension 8. If there is immediate danger to a home or property, call 911.A burn ban remains in effect.
