DEVELOPING: Police investigating after car went into Hudson River in Troy

Crews are investigating after a car went into the Hudson River in Troy.

Police and firefighters responded to the scene.


According to Assistant Police Chief Steven Barker, it happened around 7:30 a.m. Saturday off of River Street near Middleburgh Street.


Chief Barker says the car hit an electrical pole and started a fire before it went into the river.

The Troy Fire Department says two of its members swam out to get the driver out, but could not find anyone.
