The DMV is warning drivers of a new phishing scam. This latest scam involves sending people texts falsely claiming rebates as a result of high fuel prices.

People have been receiving text messages offering 15 hundred dollar rebates per vehicle with a link attached to that text message.
The scam asks for your personal information to collect the rebate, that doesn’t really exist though.
The DMV is urging New Yorkers to be vigilant if they receive any of those kinds of messages or emails and if they seem suspicious.
