Documentary featuring rock band from Albany premiering at Cohoes Music Hall

The band Blotto started in the Capital Region in the late 1970s and rose to fame when MTV debuted in 1981. Blotto’s music video for the song I Wanna Be a Lifeguard was played on the first day of MTV. That helped launch success with radio popularity, tour dates and record sales. The band, however, didn’t fit into a specific music genre and so that level of early success was not sustainable. The documentary Hello! My Name is Blotto – The Movie! will premiere Saturday, April 12 at Cohoes Music Hall.
