Dog rescued from icy pond

A complete team effort is being credited for rescuing a dog trapped in a pond in Greene County.

Police say they found a dog yelping for help off Route 23B.

A person going by, walked through the ice and water and was able to keep the dog’s head above water.

Authorities say the dog was stuck in the water and tangled in the thick brush under a rotted tree.

First responders were able to free the dog, and treat her, before reuniting her with her owners, who had reported her missing.
