Dogs found dead off Troy bike path

There’s been a gruesome discovery off a bike path in Troy. Police say at least two dogs were found dead.

Police tell NewsChannel 13 someone walking along at the Uncle Sam Bike Path called Wednesday morning when they saw two dogs laying there lifeless.

Police say the dogs tested positive for parvo, a highly contagious virus that spreads from dog to dog and is often deadly.

There’s still no information on whom the dogs’ owners are, just that it was a frightening discovery for someone walking along this wooded area to see the dogs lying dead.

Police say they’re working closely with animal control officers. They still need to determine the cause of death and the owner’s involvement.
