Downstate congressman wants to censure Stefanik over voter fraud claims

Congressman Dan Goldman introduced a resolution Wednesday to censure Stefanik, accusing her of peddling voter fraud conspiracy theories that fueled the January 6, 2021 attack at the Capitol, and supporting rioters who violently threatened members of Congress, referring to them as “hostages.”
A censure is a public reprimand just short of expulsion.
Stefanik responded in a statement, accusing Democrats of being in “desperate free fall.”
It reads in part, “Elise has never been more supported in her district, by her Republican colleagues, and across Upstate NY and America. Dan Goldman and Democrats are desperate because they know Joe Biden is going to lose this November.”
