The statewide crackdown against impaired driving will continue through New Year’s Day.

There will be an increased number of patrol officers and sobriety checkpoints.

New York State Police said the number of crashes, especially deadly ones related to drunk driving, increase during this time of year.

People are asked to plan for a sober ride home if they are going to drink.

They should also call 911 if they see a suspected drunken driver.
