Our media partners at the Berkshire Eagle are reporting Shugrue wanted his wife to potentially serve as his chief of staff.
Shugrue says she’s been his right-hand at work during his time in private practice and also holds a master’s degree in public administration.
However, the state ethics commission says she cannot be hired because Massachusetts nepotism law prevents her from working in for his office.
