Ex-manager of Shenanigans Gentlemen’s Club needs new attorney

The former manager of Shenanigans Gentlemen’s Club, who is accused of selling methamphetamine, needs a new attorney.

Luigi Canessa was being represented by Lee Kindlon. However, Kindlon was elected Albany County District Attorney earlier this month.

Kindlon said in a letter to U.S. District Court Judge Christian Hummel that communication between he and his client has broken down and become irreparable and he asked for new counsel a few times.

“Mr. Canessa and I have become wildly divergent in our opinions on the strengths and weaknesses of his case.”

The judge scheduled a hearing for Dec. 3 to discuss the issue.

Canessa allegedly sold methamphetamine to an undercover officer at his home, which was less than 300 feet from the Colonie business.

Canessa also told federal investigators that he distributed meth, cocaine and marijuana from his residence. His arrest is part of a larger investigation into allegations of drug trafficking and sex trafficking at the establishment.

Canessa remains behind bars.

13Investigates had previously reported on the lawsuit of a former dancer who claims she was told by owner Robert Savoa and Canessa to drug customers with chloroform and steal their money. She also alleges she was forced to take drugs herself and engage in sexual activity with customers.
