Final preparations were being made Wednesday for the annual Fourth of July Fireworks show at the Empire State Plaza.
The show is put on by the New York State Office of General Services and Price Chopper/Market 32.
This year headliner, Bruce Hornsby, lost his voice last minute. Taking his place will be Orleans, the 1970s soft rock band known for hits like “Still The One” and “Dance With Me.”
This celebration has been going on since the bicentennial in 1976.
The fun starts at 5 p.m. with a naturalization ceremony and a flyover. Fireworks go off around 9:15 p.m.
