Fire badly damages Saratoga Springs home

Fire has forced two people from a Saratoga Springs home.

The fire broke out at 107 Gilbert Road late Monday morning. Firefighters received the call around 11:15 a.m.

About 30 firefighters from Saratoga Springs and the Malta Ridge/Round Lake fire departments responded and quickly knocked it down.

“The residents are fine. There’s no injuries,” said Saratoga Springs Acting Fire Chief Aaron Dyer. “There’s significant damage to the inside of the structure. It won’t be occupiable for some time.”

The cause was electrical, according to Dyer.

The family also has a dog and a cat. The cat was missing for a time, but a source told NewsChannel 13 that cat has now been found.
