Fire hits home in Bennington County

Agencies from New York and Vermont responded to a fire in Bennington County on New Year’s Day.

The fire broke out at 1337 Chunks Brook Road in the town of Sandgate. The property is located off Route 313 near the Vermont/New York border.

Many fire companies from New York and Vermont have responded to the scene.

The Department of Public Safety Fire and Explosion investigation unit and members from the Division of Fire Safety and Vermont State Police are working on the investigation.
