Fire on Broadway in Albany late Friday night
We are working to learn more this morning about a fire in Albany.
Crews responded late Friday night at 10:41 p.m. at 20 Learned Street.
Albany Fire Chief Gregory says the fire was under control by 1:54 a.m. Saturday.
Upon arrival, firefighters discovered a heavy fire engulfing a three-story warehouse.
They say the heavy timber-style construction and size of the structure made putting out the fire very difficult.
In this video, you can see heavy flames shooting from the top of the building.
Chief Gregory said there were no injuries to firefighters or civilians.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
Authorities say the building was deemed unsafe by the Buildings and Regulatory Compliance Department due to the heavy fire damage, and the building was taken down.
