Fireworks cancelled at Empire State Plaza due to inclement weather

Rain literally washed out all the excitement at the Empire State Plaza on Tuesday. The fireworks that were scheduled for Tuesday evening were moved to Wednesday evening at 9 p.m.

Organizers said they wanted to err on the side of safety.

Before the storms hit, the plaza was packed and filled with lots of patriotic enthusiasm.

There was a naturalization ceremony, along with live music. However, headliner Sheila E. did not get to perform.
