People gathering for fireworks show at Empire State Plaza
Fireworks are happening all over the Capital Region – some beginning Wednesday night.
July 4
Albany
The Fourth of July Celebration Presented by Price Chopper/Market 32 will take place at the Empire State Plaza. The program includes live music, food, a naturalization ceremony for new citizens, flyover by the New York Air National Guard’s 109th Airlift Wing, activities for children, a performance by the band Orleans at 8 p.m. and concluding with fireworks at 9:15 p.m.
Grounds open at 4 p.m., and free parking is available in the visitor and “P” lots under the Empire State Plaza, the Grand Street lot, and the Elk Street lot.
Clifton Park
The town of Clifton Park will be holding fireworks at Clifton Commons at night.
Lake George
The village of Lake George will put on a July 4 fireworks display immediately following sundown.
Saratoga Springs
Saratoga Springs has the Saratoga-Wilton Elk’s 55th annual Flag Day parade at 5 p.m., a family friendly concert featuring Tops of Trees from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. and then a fireworks display.
Troy
Although the City of Troy will not be putting on a fireworks display, fireworks will go off at Joe Bruno Stadium July 4 after the Valley Cats take on the Quebec Capitales. The game starts at 6:30 p.m. with fireworks immediately following.
July 5
Waterford
The Town of Waterford will be holding its Independence Day Celebration at the Hurst Harbor Center, 1 Tugboat Alley on Friday. Local music group Johnny Rabb’s Big Band will be performing starting at 6 p.m. Fireworks will start after the show.
