Construction is underway for a Chick-fil-A in Clifton Park. The restaurant is expected to open this spring, said Clifton Park Town Supervisor Phil Barrett. The only other Chick-fil-A in the Capital Region right now is beyond security at Albany International Airport, and requires a plane ticket.
The new restaurant is located near Clifton Park Center at the spot where Pier 1 Imports used to be. That building was torn down to build the restaurant.
Barrett said there will be multiple drive-thru lanes.
He expects that the restaurant will be extremely busy at first. Funding for the redevelopment of the 146 corridor from Maxwell Drive to Route 9 has been secured to make life easier for drivers in that area, Barrett said.
