SARATOGA SPRINGS – Quad Graphics, one of the top commercial printers in Saratoga County, is permanently closing its Saratoga Springs plant on or before May 4, NewsChannel 13 has learned.

It’s a strategic business decision that reflects several industry trends, including a lack of volume and increases in postal costs, according to a memo sent to staff Friday morning.

Client work produced at the Saratoga Springs will be transferred to other Quad locations, including Hartford, Little Rock and Springfield.

The Saratoga Springs plant was once one of the largest employers in Saratoga County. It now employs 450 people.
