The former business manager of the Chatham Rescue Squad is accused of stealing thousands of dollars of taxpayer money from the organization.
A Columbia County grand jury indicted Sara Thorne on counts of grand larceny and falsifying business records.
The charges allege Thorne used the Chatham Rescue Squad credit card for personal expenses, manipulated her bonuses, and took an unauthorized case payout for paid time off.
In total, Thorne is accused of padding her salary with more than $17,000.
