The Rensselaer County Sheriff’s Office hired more former state correction officers for the third time this year.
The county swore in eight new officers on Monday morning.
All of them previously worked for the Department of Corrections. Rensselaer County Executive Steve
McLaughlin has been outspoken about his support for officers who walked off the job as part of the statewide strikes that took place last month.
The county is also planning to hire three more correction officers later this year.
