A Fort Ann man allegedly robbed two people and lunged at police with a dagger.

Casey M. Gregory, 33, is facing a long list of charges. It started after State Police responded to the Northway Inn in Queensbury just before 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 1. Gregory allegedly forced his way into a room, displayed a weapon and demanded money from the victim, State Police said. He then took off.

Police found Gregory hiding in a nearby motel room with a knife. He was arrested and taken to Warren County Jail. After meeting with his lawyer, troopers saw Gregory displaying a dagger. He then is accused of lunging toward troopers with the weapon, but was quickly disarmed. No one was injured.

Investigators do not know how he came to have the dagger.

Gregory is also facing additional charges in connection with a July 19 robbery in Fort Ann. He allegedly entered an unoccupied room and took multiple items. The resident returned and then Gregory allegedly stole her purse and took more items, police said.

Gregory is facing charges of robbery, attempted robbery, two counts of burglary, two counts of menacing a police officer, two counts of criminal possession of a weapon, attempted escape, criminal possession of a controlled substance, criminal mischief and criminal trespass.

He was arraigned in Washington County Centralized Arraignment Court and sent without bail to Washington County Jail.
