We now know a father of four killed his parents, wife, and then himself while their children were at school.
This happened in the towns of Newstead and Clarence, just 30 minutes east of Buffalo.
Police say they found the bodies of Erik Bergum and Mark Bergum at a shooting range.
They say they later found Bergum’s wife and his mother at two separate homes.
Police say Bergum outlined the shootings in a note found in his car, saying he was planning a shooting spree.
The sheriff is calling the killings chilling after he was able to kill his wife and mother, then drove to a shooting range to meet his father before killing him.
Police right now are working to figure out a motive for the shootings.
