Friday Knights finds new home at UAlbany for people with autism
The program known as Friday Knights was so popular when it was run by the College of Saint Rose for about twenty years that it looked like the school’s closing would mean a community need would no longer be filled. Friday Knights created a fun, safe place for kids and young adults with autism.
That critical program only took a brief hiatus, though. By this spring semester, UAlbany was picking up where Saint Rose left off, opening some of its classrooms for music, art, STEM and games. Friday Knights hit full capacity quickly and there are already plans for the fall with room to grow. A grant was recently secured to continue Friday Knights and for it to expand.
