The funeral for former Albany Fire Chief James Larson was taking place on Monday. Larson died on April 16.

Family and friends gathered for a wake Sunday night.

The funeral was set for 10:30 at Mater Christi Church on Hurst Avenue. Larson served in the Albany Fire Department for 32 years, including 13 years as chief.

Mayor Kathy Sheehan has ordered all flags in the city to be flown at half-staff throughout the day in his honor.
