Galway father-son tandem, which ran across America, now ready for Boston Marathon
Nearly a decade ago, Shaun and Shamus Evans captured the attention of the country, running across America while promoting inclusion. The father-son duo from Galway set out on that mission from Seattle to New York City when Shamus, who was born with cerebral palsy, was nine years old. The Evans family donated 25 running chairs courtesy of Ainsley’s Angels and they raised more $100,000 for cerebral palsy.
Now, Shaun and Shamus will run the Boston Marathon together for the first time, a few months after Shamus’ qualifying 18th birthday. NewsChannel 13 will have coverage live from Boston on Patriots’ Day tracking the success of the Evans duo.
