Ghosts of Saratoga trolley tours giving history to the paranormal
SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. – With Halloween approaching, if you want to see and experience some of the strangest paranormal spots in the Capital Region, a special trolley is offering a one-of-a-kind tour.
The Ghosts of Saratoga Trolley Tours are carrying mystery seekers through Saratoga Springs’ most infamous haunted buildings and spirits for themselves.
From stories of the ghosts of women dancing in their favorite dresses, to a long dead mayor still trying to rearrange his former home, the tour is a mix of intriguing and disturbing tales.
Expert ghost guide Charlie Kuenzel explains the deep history and lore behind some of the most iconic paranormal places and events.
One stop on the tour is Lake Avenue Elementary School. The school was built back in 1923 near a much older cemetery where some of Saratoga’s first residents were buried. Over the years, custodians assigned to clean the building have experienced some unbelievable encounters, according to paranormal investigators.
“Quite often, there would be two orbs of light that would come out and move around on the floor around their legs,” tour guide Charlie Kuenzel said. “Usually, the first time that would happen that would cause the custodian to move down the staircase very quickly and to the head custodian’s office to want to know what was going on. They would say, “that happens to all of us. It’s the girls. The girls want to play.”
The Ghosts of Saratoga Trolley Tours are a collaboration of the Discover Saratoga tourism bureau, and the Saratoga Springs History Museum. You can catch a ride for the next two Thursdays, including on Halloween.
