Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand is working to help New York families pay their water bills.

Gillibrand is calling for federal funding for the Low Income Household Water Assistance Program in the upcoming government funding bill.

The program helps households whose services have been disconnected, or are about to be disconnected, because families can’t pay.

The program’s funding expired in 2023. More than 20,000 New York households were helped last year.
