Gillis shooting prompts cell service improvements in Washington County town

After the shooting on April 15, 2023 on Patterson Hill Road in the town of Hebron, the group of friends tried to call 911 for help. However, they did not have cell service there. They had to drive for about five minutes before finally being able to make that call for help.
It’s something that initially haunted family, not knowing if Kaylin could have been saved if the call went through.
It was revealed at trial by pathologist Dr. Michael Sikarica that Gillis died instantly.
