The first girls wrestling state championships in the state were taking place right here in Albany at the MVP Arena.

There were 208 girls wrestling on Thursday, and lots of supporters were cheering them on.
There are 13 weight classes, 16 girls per weight class.

This competition is the first of its kind in New York state, and the first high school freestyle championship in the entire country.
