Glens Falls Mayor Bill Collins gave NewsChannel 13’s Mark Mulholland a personal guided tour of the major projects that have him excited about the future of Hometown USA.

That includes a year-round market and events center being built on South Street, where an old run-down bar used to stand.

Eight years in the making, it was jumpstarted by a $10 million state Downtown Revitalization Initiative grant.

The South Street project is right around the corner from bustling Glen Street, where two buildings that used to be bars are being redeveloped into retail and residential, restaurants and apartments. That includes one building that’s been empty for 30 years.
