Glenville community concerned about proposed sites for migrant housing

There’s concern from community members in Glenville over locations where migrants could soon be housed.
A Bloomberg News report shared a list of potential sites to house thousands of migrants that arrived recently in the state. Among them was the Air National Guard Base in Glenville, which is the home of the 109th Airlift Wing. The list was sent from the Department of Homeland Security to Mayor Eric Adams
Town Supervisor Chris Koetzle is disturbed by the lack of information from the state and federal government. He fears the migrants could show up there one night the way they were brought to Rotterdam.
Koetzle is worried for the five school districts that children in Glenville attend – and local resources he says are already on a shoestring budget.
If this happens, he doesn’t think the base itself is a good place to house people.
