Bethlehem supervisor highlights highway workers
Bethlehem’s town supervisor is highlighting the hard work of his highway crews during this storm. One plow run throughout the town is about 360 miles, he said. Crews also have to clear the town’s 43 miles of sidewalk. It’s a snapshot of what our highway crews go through across the Capital Region.
$1 million donation in honor of teen who died from brain cancer
A major donation was given to a fund created in honor of a teenager from the Berkshires, who died from brain cancer. Anna Yan Ji Arabia from North Adams was 13 when she was diagnosed in 2009. She died four years later. An anonymous donor pledged $1 million to the AYJ Fund, to help continue the work to help other children facing similar health issues.
HVCC hosting health and wellness job fair
Hudson Valley Community College students are invited to a job fair in health and wellness fields. Reps from businesses like exercise science, fitness, dental hygiene, and public health will be there to answer any questions. It’s this Friday, January 27, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
SPAC’s Spa Little Theater releases spring schedule
The Spa Little Theater at SPAC is out with its spring season. It kicks off with “Pride and Prejudice” put on by Aquila Theatre on March 11. That’s followed by a show by a cappella group Kings Return, Banda Magda and Caffe Lena is presenting two shows.
New Pittsfield brewing company celebrates grand opening
A new brewing company is opening up in Pittsfield, and it’s kicking things off with 10 days of events. Hot Plate Brewing will team up with local musicians, artists and business owners starting February 16 for 10 days. Each day is inspired by each of their first 10 beers. The brewery is located at 1 School Street in Pittsfield.
