Granville man allegedly had child pornography

A Granville man is accused of possessing child pornography.

State Police said Timothy W. Lapoint, 54, had images consistent with child exploitation. The arrest followed a search of his home on March 18.

The investigation stemmed from a cyber tip received by the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

Lapoint was charged with promoting a sexual performance by a child and possessing a sexual performance by a child. He was arraigned in Washington County Centralized Arraignment Court and sent to Washington County Jail in lieu of bail set at $5,000 cash $10,000 bond, or a $20,000 partially secured bond.
