Greenfield Center couple gets new home after tree crushes old one
A Greenfield Center couple is celebrating a happy homecoming. They've actually been waiting for that home to come to them all summer long.
The Greenfield couple who were forced out of their mobile home after a tree fell through the roof have officially moved into their new home.
Kevin and Karen Julius moved into the new trailer home, according to Clarice Eaton from Rebuilding Together Saratoga County.
The Julius family’s home was destroyed last April, when a giant pine tree was struck by lighting and crashed down through the roof into the living room in the middle of the night. The couple said at the time that they were fortunate to escape with their lives and their beloved dog. However, they are both on fixed incomes and could not afford to rebuild their home of 22 years.
With the help of New York State Homes and Community Renewal Program, the family was able to move into a new place at the Saratoga Greens Mobile Home Community.
