Guilderland, Fort Hunter firefighters help battle southern NY wildfires
Firefighters from Guilderland and Fort Hunter headed to southern New York on Wednesday to help fight the ongoing wildfires there.
A total of 177 buckets of water were dropped on the fire on Tuesday.
Volunteer crews worked throughout the night with forest rangers and that they are making small gains, the DEC said on Wednesday.
They say people could see more smoke in the area.
No evacuations are in place, and no structures are in danger, they said.
