Hiker rescued in Columbia County
A woman who fell 12 feet on a hiking trail in Greene County was rescued on Saturday.
Forest rangers from the state Department of Environmental Conservation responded to a report of an injured hiker on the escarpment trail in the town of Hunter at around 5:45 pm. Rangers, local fire departments and EMS rescued the 51-year-old from Ulster Park less than a quarter-mile from the trailhead.
The hiker had mild hypothermia and pain to her back, shoulder and hip, according to a news release.
