Structural steel will begin going up on the new state-of-the-art stadium.
The first steel beam was hoisted into place Friday morning.
Gov. Kathy Hochul stopped by Friday to celebrate the more than 800 laborers working on the 60,000-seat facility.
The project will have $11 billion of economic impact over the next 30 years.
