Hochul: Disgusted by racist comments at Trump rally including by a comedian that called Puerto Rico a floating pile of garbage.

Gov. Kathy Hochul had some strong words after racist remarks made at Donald Trump’s rally at Madison Square Garden Sunday night.

Comedian Tony Hinchcliffe called Puerto Rico a “floating island of garbage.”

“Certainly there’s always large crowds when circuses come to town,” Hochul said. “It was shocking even by today’s standards to call Puerto Rico a floating island of garbage. I represent one million Puerto Ricans. I am disgusted by that characterization. We are what we are as Americans because of our diversity.”

Vice President Kamala Harris also reacting to Trump’s rally calling it nonsense. Meanwhile, a Trump spokesperson dismissed those racist comments this morning that spokesman says it was a joke made in poor taste.
