Hochul to sign bill protecting kids on social media
Hochul to sign bill to prevent social media companies from collecting information on kids under the age of 18.
Gov. Kathy Hochul is expected to sign a bill on Thursday intended to protect kids on social media.
The “Safe for Kids” Act was passed by the Legislature two weeks ago. The bill is designed to restrict addictive feeds for users under the age of 18.
It also prohibits websites from collecting and sharing personal data of anyone under the age 18. The governor said it will help create a safer environment for young social media users.
