A new doctor's office is now open inside the Albany County Jail. This isn't for the inmates there. It's for the homeless population that lives in two wings, which were transformed into rooms for those in need of a place to stay.

This isn’t for the inmates there. It’s for the homeless population that lives in two wings, which were transformed into rooms for those in need of a place to stay.
It’s known as the SHIP unit – which stands for the Sheriff’s Homeless Improvement Program. One wing is for men and one for women and children.
Residents now have a doctor’s office and health care professionals right there for check-ups, or to address any health concerns.
This is all because of Dr. Brenda Robinson, who is founder of New York Level Up Healthcare located in Albany.
Hear why Dr. Robinson said this new doctor’s office is so crucial for the community by watching the video of Subrina Dhammi’s story.
